Provisioning

  • Generally each boat will provision for all breakfasts, most lunches and three dinners to be prepared and eaten on board – refer to the itinerary for the planned onshore schedule.

    • This is not a hard and fast rule, you’ll find on occasion that you might grab an extra lunch or dinner ashore

  • Your skipper will work on a provisioning list with you. Portosrosa has a small Sigma Supermarket in the marina open 9am-9pm Saturdays. In addition, close by:

    • Decò Supermarket carries staples

    • CONAD Superstore is similar to a large supermarket in the US and is 15 mins from the marina by road. Open 8.30am to 8.30pm on Saturdays.

    • Lidl is 15 mins from the marina by road, next door to the CONAD Superstore, open 8am to 9pm on Saturdays

  • You may elect to have Moorings or Sunsail provision your boat. Your provisions will be on your boat when you arrive. You will need your contact number to shop their online store.

  • Leftover non-perishables will be gladly taken off your hands by a neighboring boat that is departing as you arrive back to base, or by the dock hands and boat cleaning staff at the marina.  It’s a great way to tip them for their amazing work!

  • Leftover drinks will also be gladly accepted by the marina staff.  You will work out with your skipper an appropriate level of alcohol for the week depending on everybody’s preference for wine, beer, spirits, mixers and soft drinks.

  • You may bring small items that will contribute to cooking tasty meals, such as specific dried herbs, oils, etc. – discuss with your crew mates and skipper when agreeing on provisions.  Remember, any items you bring will need to be small and unopened. Fruits and vegetables are not permitted to be brought into Italy from outside the European Union.

  • Make sure you let your skipper know of any food allergies or dietary needs.

  • Feel free to add or purchase separately any items that you specifically need or will make the week more enjoyable for you.

  • Duty free is a good way to grab a few bottles of any drinks you can’t find on provisioning lists.
