General Instructions
Course Overview
Start line is as shown below, beginning at the Anegada channel waypoint, 18°42.483'N • 64°24.516'W, and following a line due west at 270° to 18°42.483'N • 64°27.066'W for 2.4NM. Note the west end of the Start line will intersect with a navigation line included as part of the chart.
You must draw this line on your cellphone navigation app as shown below (use your compass tool)
You must stay clear of the reef to the north and east
You must stay clear of any vessels departing or arriving to the Anegada Channel
Start Procedure
A 5 minute timer will be started at ~8.55am, with 5 minute and 1 minute warnings provided on VHF 69
A 10 second countdown will be given on VHF 69, followed by a blast of the horn from Sips Ahoy! to indicate the race has started
Upon hearing the race start horn all boats must take a screenshot, at maximum zoom, of their vessel icon in proximity to the start line. Screenshots must include the time display
Make way for The Dogs
All yachts must follow the numbered route through and around The Dogs, as shown below.
On approach, keep George Dog to starboard
Turn to an westerly heading to split George Dog and Great Dog - be sensible and not overly zealous in your competitiveness. If you are vying for space with another vessel and running out of water, give way to the other vessel. There are no prizes for crashing your boat, only an empty bank account and potentially the loss of life of you and your crew
Continue with Cockroach Island to starboard - do not cut between George Dog and Cockroach Island
After passing Cockroach Island head for the north side of Seal Dogs
Round Seal Dogs, keeping it to starboard
Make way for the south side of Scrub Island, keeping all of The Dogs to starboard
The Dogs
Finish line is as shown below, beginning at waypoint, 18°26.975'N • 64°30.526'W, and following a line due Northeast at 21° to 18°27.725'N • 64°30.219'W for 0.8NM. Note that the Finish Line tracks along a navigation line included as part of the chart, and both ends intersect with separate submarine cables, also included on the chart.
You must draw this line on your cellphone navigation app as shown below (use your compass tool)
You must stay clear of any vessels departing or arriving to Marina Cay, Scrub Island or Trellis Bay
Upon crossing the Finish line all boats must take a screenshot, at maximum zoom, of their vessel icon in proximity to the Finish line. Screenshots must include the time display
