Skipper Appreciation Dinner

A much loved tradition of DC Sailing Community flotillas is the Skipper Appreciation Dinner. Each boat crew will cover the cost of their Skipper’s dinner and drinks, and the entertainment provided by our hosts, as a token of thanks and appreciation for taking on the responsibility of running the boat for the week.

Location:

Scrub Island Resort, North Shore. Under no circumstances are you permitted to enter any area of the resort property, except as detailed below or as directed by resort staff in the event of an emergency.

Date:

Thursday February 26th, 2026

Event Schedule:

  • 6pm - Dinghies begin heading to Scrub Island Resort Marina

    • Must be ashore by 6.30pm

    • Meet transport shuttles that will take you to the North Shore

    • Be greeted by our entertainment troupe

    • Enjoy a complimentary rum punch or non-alcoholic fruit punch on arrival (one beverage per person)

  • 7pm - Be seated for buffet dinner

  • 8.30pm (approx) - Skipper and Lucky Dogs recognition

  • 9.00pm (approx) - Entertainment, pool opens, DJ and dancing

  • 10pm - Shuttles start running back to Dinghy Dock

Arrival Logistics:

  • Take your dinghy into the Scrub Island Resort Marina and tie off to the Dinghy Dock, located between A and B dock

  • Proceed up to the second level and wait for a shuttle to take you to our private event space, located on the North Shore beach. Each shuttle can accommodate up to 12 people

  • Please plan to arrive by 6.30pm to allow time for everyone to be present in time for dinner

Seating Arrangements:

Each crew will be seated at a table corresponding to their boat. For your convenience a placard will be placed on each table identifying your boat. This will facilitate one check per boat, please do not sit at another boat’s table.

Payment:

Dinner and entertainment will be paid for in advance by DC Sailing Community. Your Skipper will organize collection of the appropriate amount for your table, for onward reimbursement to DCSC.

Drinks are to be paid for on the night, cash or credit (Visa, Mastercard and Amex accepted). The bar will run a tab for each boat, give the bartender your boat’s name when when ordering. Each boat’s tab will be settled at the end of the night.

Dinner:

Dinner is buffet style, review the menu below. Flour-less Chocolate Cake will also be available as a Gluten Free dessert.
