Travel Health and Safety
For CDC recommendations and guidance, please review the CDC Travelers Health page for Mexico. The US State Department currently has a Level 2 travel advisory in place for the State of Baja California Sur, Mexico. You should exercise caution when handling money and avoid leaving valuables in sight of potential criminals.
Entry Requirements
Your passport must be valid at the date of entry and you must have proof of an onward or return ticket. You must have a passport book when entering Mexiso by air, a US Passport Card will not be accepted. No immunizations are required and you do not need a visa for stays of less than 180 days.
Flight and Transport Options
All crew must schedule travel to ensure being on-site at the marina on the morning of February 20th, 2027. La Paz International Airport (LAP) is the closest and most convenient airport. You will require at least one transfer en route. Taxis and car rental are available from La Paz International Airport. Car rental companies represented at the airport include Avis, Budget, and Europcar.

Approximate taxi cost to the base from La Paz International Airport:
1-3 pax – car: 500 mxn
1-8 pax – minivan: 900 mxn
It is also possible to fly to Los Cabos International Airport. Note the drive time from there is approximately three hours. SA taxi will run you approximately 4000 mxn.
Accommodations
A hotel is not mandatory however many sailors like to book their travel to arrive a day or two early to avoid the risk of travel delays due to inclement weather. Some also like to stay an additional night after the sail to give themselves a more relaxed journey home rather than having to rush between ferry and flights.
